Nestled under the
......bougainvillea bough,
A sliver slides down
......a branch of brown;
A cocoon of hurt
......left midst a walk
Falls into the dust,
......Futile.
The monsters of wrath
......have fallen;
The aqueous bullets
......have slain.
And as I look up to the heavens:
......I breathe in the rain.

Nice! Bougainvillea totally reminds me of Chandigarh where there is a garden by that name and all that you have in there is that plant. I used to go for a walk there with my Nani and Nana. Then Nana died and Nani doesn't walk much anymore. I haven't even been to Chandigarh for so long now..it's as if Nana dying somehow broke my relationship with that place. Darn, I need to stop whining and say something funny or you'll think this isn't me.
So, yes, rain. It's been raining kutta's and billi's in here for the last 2 days. Last night at 4, we even had hail. Yes, I was awake and was studying Differentiation. :/
Meanwhile, ever tried taking a picture of the rain by pointing the camera directly towards the sky? I did that yesterday. Conclusion was, you can do the same thing by keeping your camera under the water tap and there's no need to get wet. :P
Mmm great job. Love the image that this brings to my mind. And the ending was very nicely done.
i like the alliteration!!!
*grins* You have a knack for rhyming...
Great poem. Brings to mind the heady earthy scent that is fills you before and after the rain.
It springs this clear magnificent image which you experience vicariously... (The Daffodils??... nah, this isn't about nature or the rain itself, is it?! ;-)
*makes a blubbery sound*
P.S.: Don't try and find some relation between what I do and the poem. There is none.
this is amazing...and though someone's already said this but i like the ending too.....
tooooo good
Beautiful. :)
Somehow this poem reminds me of Coldplay's song called Swallowed in the Sea.
Ishmeet : I don't really stratify people based on one single characteristic, y'know. If you were solely funny, the only thing I'd think was that you were abnormal. So, yeah. Whining is alright. :)
You were studying Differentiation at four AM?! Jeez. Take it easy man. :| Wish we had hail here though. The weather's reverted back to all sunny now. I miss the rain.
Lol. Smartness says to take a picture of the rain from the safe confines of a room with a window. :P Getting wet is the major USP of the rain anyway. :D
Bharat : Gee, thanks! :D Still doesn't compare with any of yours, though. :P
KotK : Lol, that came about inadvertently. *lopsided grin*
Nik : :/ Bah, two lines. You do your rhyming, shoo. :P
And the smell is actually due to spores released by a bacteria called Actinomycetes which are carried on by the rain. There, dissected and trashed the beauty of it, didn't I? :P
Blubbery? Lol. You need blubber to be able to do that. I don't see any. *smirks*
Kika : You do too? I don't mind repetition, 'ssokay. Thanks :)
Abhi : Whoa, that's strange. Swallowed in the Sea is one of the songs I'm most likely to listen to when it rains. :) Thanks for dropping by!
:)
Your welcome. Am waiting for new posts :)
Lol, your wish is my command! For once, a punctual reply. :P
You're starting to sound like me... *grins*
Oh and if you wanna be a bit more specific, it's the Streptomyces bacteria belonging to the Actinomycetal genus.
;-)
[got it right this time?]
